Since we launched a few years ago as NamaNews, we’ve had one goal – sharing inspiring stories of how developing countries, often in collaboration with international partners, are lowering their greenhouse gas emissions, while creating jobs, improving living conditions, and preparing for a low-emissions world.
Through the adoption of the Paris Agreement countries have agreed to be more transparent about their climate action and many non-State Actors are also following suit. Transparency framework is critical for delivering on the Paris Agreement, it is in essence the backbone of the Agreement. Considering this and recognizing that we have access to rich information, we have decided to broaden our objective to encompass inspiring stories on mitigation actions, transparency measures, and efforts to minimize impacts of response measures.
You’ll begin to see a few changes to our web and social media sites which reflect our new objective, and our new name – Mitigation and Transparency Exchange – will be debuted in a few short weeks. We are excited about this evolution and are looking forward to bringing you the same valuable and quality content. We appreciate your support during this transition, we hope you continue to come to us as a trusted source.
