St. Lucia to share NDC implementation highlights on 13 April
The secretariat of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is hosting a 30-minute webinar on the climate action plan – called nationally determined contribution (NDC) – of St. Lucia on Thursday 13 April at 16:00 CET (10:00 EST).
This online dialogue will be titled ‘NDC Knowledge Portal: 10 Minutes with St. Lucia.’
NDCs are national climate action plans that detail each country’s contribution to the global response to climate change. These plans could include climate related targets or policies that governments aim to implement in response to climate change.
NDCs are vital to implement the Paris Agreement and to limit global warming to well below 2°C and as close to 1.5°C as possible.
In this online dialogue, St. Lucia will briefly highlight the efforts being taken to implement the country’s NDC. This includes an overview of priority areas, next steps, and obstacles to implementation. Questions from participants are encouraged.

This is the first episode of the interactive series, called NDC Knowledge Portal, which will occur every other week. The NDC Knowledge Portal provides the opportunity to join the discussion on current NDC implementation and status of progress.
In each episode, a country, expert, or member of the UNFCCC will be invited to provide a 10-minute overview on action and challenges, support programmes, or insight into recent developments.
